UCL Education Conference 2018

UCL staff and students are invited to attend the one-day conference to share innovative and exciting practice across the education domain on Tuesday 17 April 2018.

Dr Sam Smidt, Associate Director of UCL Arena Centre and Chair of the Conference Steering Committee says,

I’m really looking forward to the UCL Education conference – I am particularly excited to see several presentations by students about their educational experiences as well as those relating all the new things that have been happening in the last year."

The full programme, contains over 50 events from both UCL members of staff, students and external colleagues from a variety of higher education international institutions.

Sessions will consist of 15 minute presentations, ‘micro’ presentations of just two minutes and a single slide, round table discussions and workshops, including:

• how do UCL doctoral students feel about feedback on their work? enhancing feedback and wellbeing

• student empowerment: the changing role of the personal tutor

• students as partners in curriculum change

• old pedagogy, new tools

Other major themes of the conference will include:

• engaging students in research

• students as partners

• connecting education with the wider world

• using new technologies
